Spring is Here!

Posted by: | May 6, 2012 | No Comment |

S:  Spring is wonderful.  It smells like evergreen trees.

P:  Put a little sprinkle, and presto!  It is spring, and all the children are playing.

R:  Ring!  Ring! The church bells ring out that it is spring!

I:  I squeal, “Ouch!”  The bugs are biting me!

N:  Night in spring is a sky full of stars.  The birds cheep and then are quiet.

G:  Go, wild wind!  Spring is here!

Letter to Lewis and Clark

Posted by: | May 6, 2012 | No Comment |

Dear Lewis and Clark,

How was your amazing trip?  Were the buffalo good to eat?  What was your favorite part of your exploration?

If I could go on a great exploration, I would go to California.  I would meet Rob Dyrdek and go skateboarding with him.  He is awesome!  We would have so much fun.  It would be awesome skating with someone so cool. My brother is also a fan, so he could go exploring with me to California and meet famous Rob Dyrdek.

Sincerely,

BK

Mid Vermont Psalm of Praise

Posted by: | December 21, 2011 | 1 Comment |

A Mid Vermont

Psalm of Praise

written by all

of the preschoolers

through sixth graders,

along with many teachers

and parents

God is like a strong wind,

Powerful and mighty.

God is like a soft wind,

Gentle and refreshing.

God is like an eraser,

for he erases all our sins.

God is like the full moon

because He is big and bright

and directs us

through dark places.

Jesus is like stairs

because He leads us to God

from earth to Heaven.

God is a turtle shell

because He is a strong protector

and He shelters us from harm.

God is a shade

by the way He protects us

from the world

and shades us

from those who may tempt us.

God wrote His love letter to us

with a permanent marker

so that it will never go away

and it won’t come off our hearts.

God is as creative as a potter making pots.

God is the Light of the world

because He lights our path

and leads us

while we are following Him.

Forsythia

I am touching the birds with my thick branches.

I burst with yellow blossoms in the spring.

There are bugs flying around me.

There are purple leaves, big leaves, and maple leaves all around.

I am going through the clouds.

I live at a school.

There is a stream right behind me.

There are rocks all around me.

My leaves have fallen off

Until most of them are sprinkled on the ground by my roots.

I am a famous plant at this school.

I am the sunshiny, bright-as-can-be forsythia.

Winter

The snow is crunchy.

The snow looks like cotton.

When you kick the snow, it looks powdery.

The snow tastes good.

The snow is crystally.

I love snow!

It is so fun!

My Brother Coming Home

Posted by: | October 5, 2011 | 1 Comment |

When my brother went to college, I was devastated.

Kennedy wanted Beau’s room, but I got it.  He is coming home very soon.  That means I get to surprise him.  I’m going to make a picture.

Every year, Beau comes home for visits.  I give him big, big, big, big PRESENTS, but other people give him presents.  He is really surprised every time!

I love my brother.

I’m Me

I am from a chef’s house,

Where it smells like spaghetti and meatballs.

I’m from my TV.

I am from the napping house.

Welcome to Your Blog!

Posted by: | October 5, 2011 | No Comment |

Welcome to your blog. This will be a place where you will post pieces you have written. The audience for your writing will not only be students in your own classroom; it will include students in other classrooms as well. Other trusted adults will comment on your writing, making suggestions that will help you to become a better writer.

Always post good writing to your blog. When you post comments about others’ writing, please be considerate and respectful as well as helpful. Treat other online members of this project the same way you would treat them if they were right there in the room with you.

You may not give out personal information, like your name, address, phone number, email address, or family information, to anyone – not even to other members of this project. When you work online on the internet, like we will be doing, it’s important to your safety that you keep personal information about yourself private – even if someone else asks.

If you ever see or read anything on your blog or someone else’s blog that disturbs you or makes you feel uncomfortable, please lower the lid on your computer and tell your teacher right away. She will know how to help.

Finally, be sure to let your parents know about this project. Every day, talk to them about what you’re doing and what you’re learning. They will be interested to hear about your new experiences!

Have fun writing!
